A Note About Processing & Shipping Turn arounds
Long story short, we know that our turn around times leave something to be desired. We've been doing the best we can with just myself, a part time order packer, and dealing with supply chain shortages, and Post Office delays. BUT HERE'S THE GOOD NEWS! We have a new full-time hire starting Monday! So we are hoping that by adding a 2nd set of hands, we will be able to get processing times down to 3-5 business days!
Here's the long version:
Please note: None of this is meant to come across as complaining. I love this job, I love this work. It's my dream. This is purely to explain everything that is behind each and every product.
As some of you might know, we've had a pretty rough go of it these past 6 months. Every time we started to get over one obstacle, another one popped right up. We started off 2022 with a flooded office, and it's just been one hurdle after another since then. We understand that it's just life, but "just life" can make it difficult to run a small business smoothly when you have just one person running everything, and one part-time worker doing all the shipping. If I get the flu, I have to make a decision to either stay in bed, or to down some DayQuil and tough it out so people get their orders in time. That's fine. That's life, you hurdle though and get the work done.
As a small business owner, I do the work that it takes 4 full-time employees to do. I'm fine with that, I love it. I have ADHD, so having 4 different jobs to do keeps my brain happy. But we have hit the point where some things fall through the cracks because my brain literally can not handle it all, nor are there enough hours in the day to do it all.
I do everything from concept, to label design and printing (and cutting), ordering ingredients and supplies, making the product, labeling and packaging (I've been getting a little bit of help here lately), doing the photo shoots, editing images, listing them on the website and then sharing on social media. And that doesn't even cover customer support, bookkeeping, marketing, research, scheduling and doing markets/conventions.
So I am BEYOND happy that we will be adding a new full-time employee to the crew. With this new arrival I am confident that we will be able to get back to faster shipping turn around times, better quality control, as well as full-time customer service and regular social media posting. We will be able to engage with you all much more, which is a part of this that I love!
So all of this to say, it's going to get better very soon. We are very excited, and appreciate all of you who have stuck with us and supported and understood us along the way!
